11/1/2010 - Happy Halloween from Puerto Escondido

Kids under 8 - They all won the prize

Andy and I have spent the last few weeks wondering what we were going to do for Jake for Halloween.  Neither one of us gets into the holiday, so sadly we were not planning on very much.  Lucky for Jake, the group here at Escondido planned a pot luck with a Halloween Theme and a costume contest, complete with candy for the kids.  Jake had a great time with other kids and they all won 20 pesos for looking cute.  It’s interesting to see the costumes cruisers come up with because there’s nowhere here to go and buy a costume.  Most people have to go through their boat and come up with something.   I have to say everyone was pretty creative…

Earlier in the day, we went into Loreto to the Sunday market to explore and buy some fresh veggies and fruit.
